Quiz · Functions as values · lesson 2 of 10Quiz — *args and **kwargsWhat are *args and **kwargs, and when are they used?[A]*args collects keyword arguments into a tuple; **kwargs collects positional arguments into a dict. The names are mandatory, and Python rejects any other spelling, such as *params or **options, with a SyntaxError as soon as the def line of the function runs.[B]*args and **kwargs catch every argument the function receives, even ones already given to named parameters, so a named parameter and *args both get the same first positional value. They must also come before all named parameters in the def line.[C]*args collects extra positional arguments into a tuple; **kwargs collects extra keyword arguments into a dict. If none are passed they are an empty tuple/dict, not None. They let a function take any number of arguments or pass them on to another call.[D]*args collects extra positional arguments into a list; **kwargs collects extra keyword arguments into a set. If none are passed, both of them default to None, so you must check each one for None before iterating over it with a for loop.Subscribe to take the courseThe course is free.
